The Villa Dirickz is located in Sint-Genesius-Rode,
a city on the periphery of Brussels, Belgium.
The Villa was built by famous Belgian Architect Marcel Leborgne, a
pioneer of contemporary architecture and one of the founders of
Modernism in Belgium. Marcel Leborgne designed this four-story
villa for Mr. Dirickz, the director of the Forges de Clabecq, an
iron and steel factory, who loved art, theater and a glittering
lifestyle. The construction started in 1929 and the building was
completed in 1933. The Villa, after a period when it felt into
a state of severe disrepair, was bought in 2007 by developer
Alexander Cambron.
